Comic Station Issue #34 – Aug 21st 2013

Comic Station Feature #34
We at Comic Station try to highlight new releases and other series many might otherwise overlook. We typically don’t report on long-standing series unless revolutionary. We add a little something extra in our Reviews and Recommendation section.
New Releases: Realm Knights #1 from Zenescope starts off this issue of Comic Station by pulling characters from across the Nexus to form a team of heroes to fight threats greater than they could handle alone. Valiant releases Bloodshot #0 to fill in some of the background on their “perfect soldier”. Penny for your Soul: Death #1 from Big Dog Ink continues the tale of the Devils grand-daughter and the balance between Heaven, Hell, and herself. Batman Beyond Universe #1 creates a good jumping on point for new readers, but with plenty of differences since the cartoon trailed behind the comic series.
Review: Lots of reviews this week on Comic Station. Tom Strong and the Planet of Peril #1 from Vertigo Comics. Infinity #1 from Marvel Comics. Watson and Holmes #2 from New Paradigm Studios. Last but not least, Will Eisner’s Fagin the Jew from Dark Horse Comics.
Recommendation: We’ve looked at individual issues on previous Comic Station videos, but Scott recommends the whole Trinity Wars saga from DC Comics.

Comic Station Issue #29 – July 17th 2013

Comic Station Feature
We at Comic Station try to highlight new releases and other series many might otherwise overlook. We typically don’t report on long-standing series unless revolutionary. We add a little something extra in our Reviews and Recommendation section.
New Releases: Since we reviewed Blood Brothers #1 from Dark Horse Comics in last weeks’ Comic Station, we just briefly mention it today. Batman ’66 from DC Comics tries to recapture the old Adam West Batman style, while Red Sonja #1 from Dynamite moves this classic character forward. Boom Comics mixes the vampire craze with mafia to create Day Men #1.
Review: There were five Comic Station reviews this week, so we try to shotgun through them in reasonable time. First,Skin Trade #1 from Image Comics. Second, Oz #1 from Zenescope followed by Dawn: The Swordsman Daughter and Other Tales in third. Rounding out the reviews in fourth and fifth place for this Comic Station issue were The Unforgivable #1 Experiment 11:34 from Brainmachine Comix and Kafka HC from Image respectively.
Extra: Since Scott couldn’t join us for this issue of Comic Station, Paul and Lido remind everyone that Sandiego Comic Con is this week and briefly go over what they’re looking forward to from SDCC.

Comic Station Issue #26 – June 26th 2013

Comic Station Issue #26 Feature
We at Comic Station try to highlight new releases and other series many might otherwise overlook. We typically don’t report on long-standing series unless revolutionary. We add a little something extra in our Reviews and Recommendation section.
New Releases: It was a no-brainer kicking of Comic Station Issue #26 with Batman/Superman #1 from DC Comics. Image Comics continues their number one releases with Lazarus #1Uncanny #1 from Dynamite Comics takes a hustler, mystery and adds a supernatural twist.
Review: From our Man of Steel movie recap, Lido Giovacchini writes his first review for Comic Station with his review of Hoax Hunters: Case Files #1. A quirky group of supernatural hunters in strange and hilarious circumstances.
Recommendation: Scott recommends King Conan from Dark Horse Comics on this issue of Comic Station.

Comic Station Issue #21 – May 22nd 2013

Comic Station 21 Feature
We at Comic Station try to highlight new releases and other series many might otherwise overlook. We typically don’t report on long-standing series unless revolutionary. We continue our coverage of Zenescope’s Unleashed event and there’s a special interview announcement at the end.
New Releases: On this week’s Comic Station we look on as DC Comics brings out their opposite to The Movement with a bunch of young Tony Stark wannabees in The Green Team #1. A new kind of superhero enters in The Bounce #!than Image Comics. The classic Snow White story gets a remake and Steampunk venere in Antarctic Press’s Steampunk Snow White One-Shot. We end this issue of Comic Station with Grimm Fairy Tales’ Werewolves: The Hunger #1 from Zenescope.
Review: We continue our coverage of Zenescope's’ Unleashed event with a review of Hunters: The Shadowlands #1in this issue of Comic Station.
Recommendation: Scott highlights a hero who hasn’t always received the admiration he could have with DC Comics’ New 52 Aquaman series.

Comic Station Issue #18 – May 1st 2013

Comic Station Feature
We at Comic Station try to highlight new releases and other series many might otherwise overlook. We typically don't report on long-standing series unless revolutionary.
New Releases: This week on Comic Station the biggest publisher might not be the best. The Movement #1 from DC Comics features kids who use technology and super powers to enforce their territory. From Image Comics, Ten Grand #1 features a mob enforcer on a path of redemption and the chance to spend just five more minutes with his deceased girlfriend. As my favorite of this weeks Comic Station, Suicide Risk #1 from Boom Publishers follows a regular cop – maybe – who fights against supervillains in a world where heroes are scarce and powers can be bought for the right price.
Review: The Victories: Transhuman #1 from Dark Horse Comics takes the Comic Station to a realm of deeper meanings than most comics have now-a-days. From world-encompassing themes of humanity to personal struggles with self-image. Not for young readers, both due to the high level of issues delved into, but the vulgar language and occasional use of nudity. A thinking man's comic and one that takes a direction rarely seen.
Recommendation: Scott recommends Batman: The Killing Joke on this issue of Comic Station. An oldie, but an amazing read and still an essential part of the Batman mythos.

Comic Station Issue #10 – March 6th 2013

The Comic Station videos bring the latest in New Releases, Reviews and Recommendations each week in Comic Books.
New Releases: The Avengers and X-men get more time together in a dystopian and bleak future in Age of Ultron #1 issue from Marvel Comics. Image Comics knows sex sells and hope it’s true that SEX #1 will sell. This one is NOT FOR KIDS! More in line for all-ages and kids, DC Comics has Ame-Comi Girls #1 where the characters of the DC Universe are in an all-female cast, even the traditionally male characters.
Review: We mention the Guardians of the Galaxy review, which we featured as a New Release on Comic Station Issue #9 last week. This week on Comic Station we look at Oni Press and their a great new Viking mystic in Helheim #1. A beautiful and gripping story that takes it beyond the typical Viking book.
Recommendation: Scott gives Red She-Hulk some love on this issue of Comic Station!
Special One-Shot: We had a special Comic Station One-Shot Interview with Jimmie Robinson, who wrote, drew and lettered Five Weapons #1 which we reviewed last week.
